DRINK STATION: SKETCHUP IMPORT GUIDE ==================================== FILES drink-station-RevA.dae Rev A, face-frame build drink-station-RevB.dae Rev B, frameless build (.obj + .mtl are the same models for other programs; use the .dae for SketchUp.) IMPORT (SketchUp desktop; I have not tested the free web version, which may not accept .dae) 1. File > Import, set the file type to "COLLADA (*.dae)", pick the file. 2. In Options, tick "Merge coplanar faces" OFF (keeps each panel's edges visible) and leave "Preserve Component Hierarchy" ON. 3. Click Import, then click once in the model to place it at the origin. WHAT YOU GET Units: inches (the file is exact: 63.4 in wide for Rev B, 66.4 in for Rev A, 27.25 in deep, 45 in to the counter top). Axes: Z is up. The front of the cabinet faces -Y (toward you in the default Front view). X runs left to right, with 0 at the centre of the cabinet. Groups (open with a double-click): Carcass end panels, toe kick, base ladder, the three boxes (and face frame in Rev A) Back and vents back panels and the 5x10 TRM back-vent grilles Countertop black top Doors and drawers freezer door and the three drawer fronts Appliances freezer, wine cooler and coffee machine (stand-in shapes, not the maker's models) Materials, named: Oak melamine, White melamine, Black top, plus one per appliance colour. Change the oak: open the Materials panel, select "Oak melamine", add a wood texture. TIPS - Everything is made of separate panels, so you can hide a group (right-click > Hide) to see inside. - Tags (layers) are not created by the import; add them from Window > Tags if you want to toggle groups by tag. - The appliances are simple boxes with the right outside size. For the exact freezer or cooler, download the maker's 3D model from the 3D Warehouse and swap it in. - Doors and drawers are modelled closed. Rotate a door about its edge or slide a drawer out with the Move tool to check the clearances. - Measure with the Tape Measure tool to check dimensions against the cut list. - The file was checked for size and structure but not opened in SketchUp itself. If anything looks wrong on import, send me a screenshot.
